THERAPY FOR INDIVIDUALS & COUPLES

You may feel stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand.  Part of you wants to move forward.  Another part gets anxious, shuts down, overthinks, or pulls you back.  You might find yourself:

  • reacting in ways that don’t feel like you

  • getting caught in the same thoughts or emotions

  • feeling overwhelmed, numb, or disconnected

And even when you see what’s happening, it’s hard to change it in the moment.  In our work together, we slow this down.  Instead of trying to fix or push these reactions away, we begin to understand the different parts of you that are showing up—and the good reasons behind them.  Because even the parts that feel frustrating or out of control are trying to help in some way.

Understanding Your Parts

Over time, you’ll begin to recognize the different parts of you:

  • the part that manages, pushes, or criticizes

  • the part that reacts quickly to overwhelm

  • the more vulnerable parts that carry hurt, fear, or a sense of not being enough

Rather than fighting these parts, we get to know them.  We don’t try to push these reactions away. We stay with them and get to know what they’re doing for you.  As this happens, something shifts.  You begin to feel less taken over by them—and more able to respond with clarity, steadiness, and choice.

The Path to Healing

The goal isn’t to get rid of parts of you.  It’s to help them feel understood, so they no longer have to carry such extreme roles.  As protective parts soften, the more vulnerable parts they’ve been guarding can begin to be seen and healed.  From there, a different way of relating to yourself starts to emerge—one that is more grounded, compassionate, and internally steady.

Becoming More Self-Led

IFS describes this steady inner state as the Self—a calm, clear, and compassionate presence that already exists within you.

As your parts begin to trust this place, you may notice:

  • less reactivity and more internal space

  • a clearer sense of who you are

  • more ease in how you relate to yourself and others

You’re not becoming someone new. You’re uncovering what has been there all along.

HOW I CAN HELP

In our work together, we slow this down.  Like roots beneath a tree shaping what grows above, the deeper parts of your experience—your longings, fears, and protective patterns—shape how you feel and relate on the surface.  Rather than trying to fix these patterns directly, we begin to understand what’s underneath them.  The parts of you that:

  • react quickly

  • protect through anger, withdrawal, or overthinking

  • carry more vulnerable feelings beneath the surface

These reactions aren’t random.  They make sense—and they can begin to change.  I help individuals and couples make sense of their inner world and shift patterns that feel stuck.  In our sessions:

  • we focus on what is happening in the moment

  • we don’t rush to solutions

  • and we work with your experience as it unfolds

We don’t try to fix things quickly or move past reactions. Instead, we stay with them and begin to understand what’s underneath. This allows change to happen from within, rather than being managed from the outside.
